Description
The March Field Museum was dedicated in 1979 at the March Air Force Base theatre. In 1993 the Museum was relocated a second time to the west side of the March Air Force Base runway along Highway 215. In 1999 a Master Development Plan was prepared for entitlement with the City of Riverside.
In May 1999, the name was changed to March Field Air Museum. The non-profit institution includes a main museum hangar, over 70 static aircraft displays, thousands of artifacts, a theater, library, store, flight simulator, heritage courtyard and war dog memorial.
The March Air Force Base has been realigned as the new March Air Reserve Base and continues to host an annual air show, AirFest.
